    Summary
This week brings you a new animation system and more improvements for the dedicated server console. The new animation system has synchronized animations and the added ability to easily insert transition animations. Animations throughout the game will continue to be improved in the future. One other important thing is that this new system takes work off our programmers and transfers it to our artists. The dedicated server console now supports Ctrl+A and Ctrl+Shift commands.
Please also note that as announced earlier this month, today we have stopped developing the 32-bit and DX9 version of Space Engineers. From now on we will focus exclusively on developing DirectX 11 and 64-bit Windows.

For those who want to keep playing Space Engineers on Windows XP, 32-bit Windows and the DirectX 9 configuration, you can still enjoy the game by accessing your copy on Steam. (To switch to the DX9 branch on Steam, right-click on Space Engineers on Steam, chose Properties, go to the Betas tab, and change your build to "DX9/WinXP".) You will be able to launch the game without any issues, but no new content will be added from the end of March 2016. A guide for how to do this is available here: http://blog.marekrosa.org/2016/02/space-engineers-news-full-source-code_26.html.

Sweet! So you're saying you fixed up and polished what was already there to get rid of all the already existing issues before abandoning it, right?

    Right?

Cool stuff. I'll be most interested to find out if the log spam and DS performance issues were fixed this patch.

Animation system gets rid of weird shit, but no real improvement other than cleaning up the mess they made 1-3 years ago

EDIT : No eye adaptation toggle anymore?

    "adjusted connector force"
Adjusted how, that's the interesting part. Not that it has been touched.

Just one question about the video...... HOW does he drive that vehicle on that armor plating. Why aren't the wheels sticking to the ground and trying to fold in on themselves because armor plating adds like +1000 friction?

legacy is pretty brutal, I hope this means you'll be updating the skybox in the near future because in dx11 even your default skybox is broken to the point it gives me headaches, so i made my own which has been broken since you implemented dx11 skyboxes.

also keep it up @Xocliw the update video's are much easier to absorb now ;p

@Mikhail Theres a bug with your suit from last week when mining on a planet on a DS when you want to mine directly downwards you can see through the astronauts chest! just letting you know. looks good hopefully performance will get better and better from here on out. For those that are no longer supported hopefully the legacy brach will still be optimised?

It is sad to see DX9 go but this should take some of the workload off the developers and get more content based updates to us things like a UI overhaul, flight stick support, different blocks and functional objects and heaven forbid actual working Ladders!!!

What do those commands even do? I have no idea

Edit: Oh wait... I remember what Ctrl+A does, oops! I mostly meant Ctrl+Shift.

I guess when they can stop them smashing into planets. I know there are modders who have accomplished that, but it's still an extra step to implementing a stable (hehe!) design into the game engine.
