Did you all play Space Engineers before planets were introduced in the game?

Being that people like to always put the silly "first" after each update I thought I would start this thread. Also we all know that an influx of newbies will come into the game when planets spawn. So why not get this "I was here before planets ....or I was here before even multiplayer! rah rah rah!" over with now.

    1. I was here before planets. (Yes or no)

    2. What was your time played before planets? (example 1,419 hours played from steam or average hours a night over period of months)

    3. Most time played while in (creative or multiplayer)

    4. What is your favorite thing you like in Space Engineers? (no pessimists please)

    5. What is the first thing you will do when you see your first planet?

    Thanks! Have fun with it.

*note: newbies are good. More people play the game = more money to developers to make the game better. Also more people to have in mulitplayer and create a true multiplayer experience.

I, like everyone at this moment, was here before planets.

I've played a few hundred hours.

    I only play Survival.

My favorite thing is engineering in space.

Upon seeing my first planet I will contemplate constructing a craft to explore it.

First i would say taht you should change your poll or delete it, since Yes or no Polls are not allowed.

Second, about the thread. I will gladly crash my favorit ship on the first planet a find, just for the lulz!

My answer is dependent on whether space spiders are going to be in the game or not.

I am totally from the future so I did not play SE before planets.

I, too, will be honored to have my favorite ship crash into an alien planet.

I may crash ships the first time, just to see how it goes. But then, I think I wouldn't take capital ships inside planets, but rather, use light shuttles to maneuver.

    1. Oh yeah, though I can't say that planets have really been released. :D
    2. 390h total at Oct 17th, 2015 (since February 2014, when I got the game... I don't play that much).
    3. Single creative, mostly, for boredom. I also put quite a bunch of hours into single survival when I started playing. And I've been doing some multiplayer creative this week with a friend of mine. Oh, and I don't suppose that fiddling with the source code counts... :p
    4. Physics and destruction, combined. How the debris floats loose after a battle.
    5. Build a base (or a city?) linked to an orbital space station.

    Cheers

    4. Scripting.
    5. Hmm... dig a deep deep hole?

    1. Yes.
    2. Oct 17th 2015 steam say 682 hours.
    3. At the beginning i played a lot of SP survival, then almost only creative until planets come.
    4. Physics, creativity, space.
    5. Depends on the type, if it's earth like and judging by the last teaser, i think i'll just fly around it enjoying myself while i search a good and beauty spot (or more than one saving GPS points) for a base... if it's another type of planet i think i'll just find an earth like planet :D

PS: While writing "good and beauty spot" an idea just appeared in my head... flying around a planet, desert spotted, "meh, a desert, boring", and then a giant worm jump from the sand and eat the entire respawn ship :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    4. What is your favorite thing you like in Space Engineers? you can construct a ship and pilot it against an asteroid (soon planet)

Good ol' times.... I remember the symmetry mode being introduced... *sigh*

    1. I was here before planets. (Yes or no)

    I'd say.... yeeees

    2. What was your time played before planets? (example 1,419 hours played from steam or average hours a night over period of months)

ermm... mate, are planets out and I overslept them? wut happened here? at the current time I got a little over 2000hrs on the game.

    3. Most time played while in (creative or multiplayer)

ha-hm.... maybe 50/50? difficult to say

    4. What is your favorite thing you like in Space Engineers? (no pessimists please)

I like the everything! But especially the problem solving - "got to build an escape-pod! It works! What do you mean, they got oxygen now?... okay, fixed it, works with oxygen! What do you mean they got relevant weight now???"

    5. What is the first thing you will do when you see your first planet?

I will circle around in it, playing the music that was there when Adama flew in the Raptor above the Earth while Laura was dying and I WILL CRY JUST AS MUCH AS I DID THEN!... okay, maybe not quite as much - that scene was hurting, man.

This thread will cause a time paradox......

    1. I was here before planets. (Yes or no)
Everyone who currently owns the game was here before planets....

    2. What was your time played before planets? (example 1,419 hours played from steam or average hours a night over period of months)
    300 something hours

    3. Most time played while in (creative or multiplayer)
    Single player survival.

    4. What is your favorite thing you like in Space Engineers? (no pessimists please)
    Building & volumetric destruction.

    5. What is the first thing you will do when you see your first planet?
Crash into it then turn the crashed ship into a base, keeping the overall shape of ship.

Back in my day, we had to refine all our materials by hand!

PS: Also had to walk barefoot up that cold asteroid.... In the snow! Both ways... While blind folded... carrying ores by hand

I've been here since update 94 (I think. May have been 95), so not all that long, but in before planets. In this short time, I have somehow managed to rack up 445 hours of play, mostly split in between survival and creative, with more recent time being mostly creative as I'm fleshing out a couple ideas I have. I'd say right now my favorite feature is the programmable block, just because of all the potential it has.

As for what I plan to do when planets happen, I think I'm going to find a planet/biome in a creative world that I won't feel too bad tearing up, build semi-automated torpedo launcher, and do some explosive tunneling.

    ok, on topic :p

    1. I was here before planets. (Yes or no)
Yes, even before ladders mysteriously disappeared, but I never notice the existence of ladders anyways.

    2. What was your time played before planets? (example 1,419 hours played from steam or average hours a night over period of months)
hmm... like 1600 hours... checking.... 1630 hours by now

    3. Most time played while in (creative or multiplayer)
    Creative

    4. What is your favorite thing you like in Space Engineers? (no pessimists please)
Mechanics, a mix of reality and sci fi, real physics and star wars physics

    5. What is the first thing you will do when you see your first planet?
put my face like this o_O and then :pbjt: all day
