About 5 minutes ago an update was released (25MB in size). This update changed the last dev version from 145 to 144; games saved on 145 will not load anymore, showing the message "this world was created with a newer version).

I believe this one is quite easy to solve, but the solution have to be available asap, or lots of people will complain they cannot load their games.

Confirming that I have experienced the same problem. I'm currently unable to load a creative world that I was working on last night.

Has anyone tried modifying the Sandbox.sbc file to match the new version? (Or old version. perspective, I suppose.)

Yes, that does work, which confirms the problem is due to Keen changing the version number.

For those interested in immediately getting the world to load again, you can do this:
    • Open this file: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\[numbers]\[NameOfWorld]\Sandbox.sbc
    • Search for <AppVersion>.
    • Change the number to 1144003. That will restore your ability to use the world.
As this is a workaround to a problem, I suggest backing up the folder before doing this, just in case.

I can confirm editing in Sandbox.sbc:
    Code:
    <AppVersion>1145003</AppVersion>
    to
    Code:
    <AppVersion>1144003</AppVersion>
    Works

Edit: Whoops didn't see @Korodon's Post

I tried the work around and the game froze when I tried to exit.

Edit: Second try I was able to exit normally, didn't loose save either.
