[1.165.009] Can't launch game, no error listed

    Update: Like many others, my issue was solved by installing windows update KB2670838. If a dev could weigh in, I'd genuinely like to know why SE is the only game in my library that requires this update... Especially since I've read that KB2670838 is particularly unstable :\

    The game won't even launch, and I get a generic error stating "Space Engineers - application error occurred. For more information please see application log..." etc. It's a fresh install, and I've tried verifying the integrity of the game cache through steam. Any help would be appreciated :)

    Win 7 64bit
    i7-5820k
    GTX 1080
    GTX 970 (Not SLI - I use this card for my multi-monitor setup)
    32GB RAM

    Hi All,

    Have you tried this;

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    </runtime>

    add the line in SpaceEngineers.exe.config after copying it first. Edit with note pad.
    I have been using it for quite awhile, you have to replace it after new updates.

    NOTE: Use at your own risk.
