Oh great was my woe when we couldn't build proper steerable wagons anymore after update 0.6.0 more than a year ago!
(You know, proper wagons as in rotatable front axle + pushing bar.)
And how great is my joy that now with 0.7.x, it finally works properly again!
I could build a wagon and pull and steer it with ease even though it was heavily loaded!
    No blocking axles, no drifting!
I would even say it worked a bit too well....
Remember to lock your car, kids.

Now I'm looking forward to building carts again thanks to your post! Yer right! It's been since .5 that carts worked half way decent. Now to cross the fingers that a rail cart system can be connected between two rope drums and not explode!

Now I can go back to being a simple gentleman farmer and enjoy it!

Do you mean to say, that Barbarian tried to steal your wagon?
Or do you use a mod which replaces "Treebeard" with a Barbarian character?

The first one. Snuck into the hook and tally-ho!
If they weren't likely to destroy the wagon when you're not Medieval Master, they could easily be abused as draft animals.

If you let a barbarian smash at your large door/portculis for long enough their weapon will break. ^^
