Crashing after Update 1.096

    Am not able to grind, enter/exit cockpit, or do much of anything before game crashes. Was not sure if this was due to updating OS, but seams many people are having this issue since the update.

    I think you're barking up the wrong tree here.

    We're having these issues on Win7 too. This started with today's update, not updating to Win10. Various null pointer crashes mostly.

    Also getting crashes while grinding since update. They are frequent but intermittent. I can grind a connector then a block, then crash while grinding a cargo block. Next time I crash as soon as I grind the connector.
    I'm running Windows 8.1 so I'm sure its not the OS that is the issue.

    I can confirm this. The same issue (it looks the same as far as the error logs are concerned) also seems to occur at the very moment a meteor impacts anything. I edited my SBS file and deleted the incoming meteors from before the save and the game didn't crash. When that worked fine, I set the game to apocalyptic and it crashed as soon as a meteor hit.

    The game also crashes when exiting the world due to NullReferenceException of the JumpDrive.

    well can confirm its happening on windows 7 with an AMD CPU NVIDIA gpu. That sucks was looking forward to playing some SE today... D: Hope they fix it before next weeks patch :woot:

    Seems to be more related to contact with asteroid.
    I'm working on a station.
    Could it be something in the voxel-support system?

    We're having the same issues on worlds with no asteroid contact/collisions (no meteors either).

    The two constants I'm seeing are the error logs, it's either the 3D sound emitter or the player raycast. I reckon it's a game object related issue. Possibly the object is getting cleaned up/deleted prior to it's use (causing a null pointer error).

    I also had crashes when deleting ships in creative. My thought was that it was crushing after a block "disappeared", whether it was ground or deleted.

    Same issue with crash to desktop. Sent the logs in twice. Happens when I start grinding down a military transport with my grindship right as soon as I get to the bump at the side door. DX9 Win10

    Edit: I should note that I was able to repeat the exact same action with the exact same result both times meaning it's not just at a random time.

    I dunno about all tools...I get it when grinding any block, but only with a ship-mounted grinder. But it's first time, every time, as soon as the block disappears, I get the crash. Welding doesn't do it, ship or by hand. Mining doesn't do it, at least, not with a ship, for me. I'll have to try a hand drill. For me, though, I'm stuck with manual labor for grinding.

    EDIT: For myself, it's just the ship grinders causing the crashes. All other tools work as expected.

    Just my 2 cents: Crashed with a pre 1.096 while grinding a DPlayer ship after applying 1.096. Created a new game, managed to grind down most of the Asteroid Rescue ship, but crashed while grinding on the medical bay (I needed to move it).

    They really messed it up this time..
    I got server crashes on meteors (had to disable). Client crash (sound error) everytime a block dissapears by grinding. Crashes on cockpit exit.

    It is ironic that in the week of "fixes", they've somehow made the game more unstable than it's been in months haha. Our dedicated server wont even start, keeps throwing a null point exception relating to laser antennas just as it should be finalising to let people log in... we haven't even built any of them in our world which makes it all the more annoying. Here's hoping they get a hotfix out fast tomorrow.

    For me, it's grinding blocks with the ship grinder. Hand grinder doesn't have an issue. But my new auto-railgun design is dead in the water till they fix it.
