    The lag from watching the huge asteroid is still present, but not as strong as before. Also i now have lag when entering my hangar with helmet lights on.

    I've been having the same problems with Space Engineers, everything has slowed to a crawl. I tried different fixes that haven't work. This is my rig:

    Custom
    12G RAM
    i7 Quad
    550 TI NVidia

    Fixes Tried:
    Adjusted # of Objects
    Adjusted Graphic Settings
    Adjust Multiplayer Settings
    Unplugged Ships
    Shut Ships Off
    Switch Creative/Survival
    *Turned off audio
    *Started new world
    *Restarted game - Multiple times

    Current Game Setting
    Survival
    Inv Size x3
    Assembler Efficiancy x3
    Refinery Speed x3
    Welding Realistic
    Grinding Realistic
    Max Objects 256
    View Distance 20km

    ... not really sure what else to do, feel free to let me know if there is a fix or if you need more info

    Have you cleared your save-game of cargo ships? That has been crippling many people's games. They don't despawn properly and thus fill up your world flying well beyond antenna/becon range.

    You need to use SEToolbox to purge them.
