New Hand Tool: Magnetic Lifter

    Now, before everyone gets their hopes up (or panties in a twist), this isn't as fancy as it sounds.

    Metalworkers, or anyone having to lift, move, and place a lot of metal will know what this is. It is, at it simplest, a big, powerful magnet on a handle. You may have seen them in hardware stores before. Typically, they look like a drawer handle on a block of metal.

    Most often, the more common ones have a little pull bar tucked under the handle. This is because the magnet is inside a small metal box, and this pull bar lifts the magnet away from the holding surface of the box, to make it easier to release the metal you're working with.

    It makes sense that, in space, something similar would be used, though probably with a design involving electro-magnets. Considering just how much iron is used to build anything in this game, it would make a lot of sense.

    In the game, it would be a simple hand-tool, like the welding torch or grinder. Only this would allow the player to in effect act like a landing gear. The character would become fixed to any object infront of him within a short distance, like a ship using it's landing gears. This would allow the player not only to anchor himself, but also to move free-floating objects like blocks, thanks to his jetpack.

    Of course, the player couldn't move anything too large. Like a small ship trying to move large ship blocks, the weight of the object would reduce his acceleration, and effect his ability to turn. However, moving small objects, maybe even single large-shop blocks (such as a small cargo container, or even a warhead) would be possible.

    It could draw a small amount of power, in line with the other hand tools, while it's being used. I could see it work as either a toggle (click once to hold, again to release), or needing to hold the mouse button down to carry objects.

    I don't want to spoil your engagement, but this suggestion has been mentioned multiple times.

    Apart from that, I completely agree, this would add so much to the game.
    You could, for example, board ships much easier.

    Carry custom, multi block missiles to your landing gears/launch pylons.
