when using a projector to cast a blueprint, is there a way to make the manu screen smaller?
i cant see the ship to move it around properly

 

You can adjust how opaque the menu is.

you could also make the projector a remote controlled "grid" and then slide its projection around while standing next to it.

Example: for a small ship projector, a simple landing gear with reactor/projector little stand, in some corner of your garage. Just add an antenna and remote control to it, and presto! You can then take control of it from your suit antenna, setup your toolbars, and slide that hologram around no problem.. no obstructions.
