I was taking a walk after playing Space Engineers for a while, and saw this vehicle:

    And I couldn't help thinking:
    • "Explorer" -- not an imaginative name, but okay.
    • Kinda boxy. Could use some greebling.
    • Those wheels are ridiculously small.
    • And there should be at least six.
    • Seriously, WTF is with those wheels?
    • Try a sharp turn in that thing on Mars, and we'll get some classic CHiPs-style rolling.
    • Hope it's got a gyroscope.

It turns out that a planet with a diameter of 12,750 km is a small world, after all.

Add some ion thrusters, and we've got the Eagle 5 from Spaceballs:

It's probably small block with a couple of window mods.

Also the glass looks dirty again.

Maybe it's equipped with a clang drive for ludicrous speed.

I often get space engineer moments:

Walking by a construction site, I saw a crane setting up its outriggers.. it was literally 4 pistons that extended outwards, each connected to a piston extending down, with a gear on the end. 4 gears on different subgrids, grabbing DIRT..

I suppressed the urge to start running as I walked by.

Well as long as none of you try to drive a car like you do a vehicle in SE.

I had to park my car on a hill today. I started breaking into a cold sweat even though I had the parking brake set.

Oh man. I am sure we all get this moment, your in traffic in your small grid car and you instantly think "if I just had a few atmospheric thrusters" like I could be home in five minutes.

you know I always wondered if control towers have like an elevator or the people that work in them are amazingly fit for walking up all those flights several times a day.

holly crap... what is with that woman with the blue top at the middle bottom. Her lower half is facing the camera while her upper half is 180 and leaning over something.

Looks like they've set up on Earth-like and are having trouble with their wheels too.
