Corvus Prime is an all-purpose, all-environment ship for exploration and colonization of new worlds; it also serves equally well as a fully-equipped starter ship or freighter.

With an empty mass of 749 tons and a maximum gross mass (as-tested in survival mode with all realistic settings) of 3,000 tons, this ship's cargo capacity is exceptional. The survival mode, planet-to-space test at maximum gross mass retained 60% of its hydrogen reserves without ice processed in the O2/H2 generators; lesser loads will only increase the hydrogen reserves. The ship is accessible from ground level without a jetpack.

Corvus Prime is MODLESS (VANILLA) and does NOT use any rotors or pistons, so it's completely buildable using a projector in survival mode.

The Weyland-Yutani Corporation, pioneers and innovators in colonization and terraforming, bring you Starlight Stealth Station ("S3" for short) for establishing a presence in hostile regions. Designed for planetary or asteroid use, S3's modular design is proportioned to fit into the spherical footprint of a warhead's blast radius. 10-step detailed installation instructions are provided on S3's exterior mounting blocks.

S3 has all the amenities that you've come to expect from Weyland-Yutani Corporation. The five interior levels, from top-to-bottom, are: 1) observation deck; 2) entry level with supplies and exterior access; 3) living level with rooms, mess, and toilets; 4) production level with plenty of gas generation, refining, and component production capacity, and 5) basement level with life support, cryogenics, and power generation. S3 has quarters for a staff of 20, and is protected with two gatling turrets and two internal turrets. An external connector allows ship docking for onloading/offloading materials and supplies.

When exploring unknown regions, make the smart choice with Weyland-Yutani Corporation, the leaders in offworld technology.

Well, this video goes through the process. It will probably take between 5-10 mins per ship to add them after you know how to.
It is a dull process, not gonna lie. But maybe worth it? Who knows.

Time for a new one that I've been tinkering with for awhile. I present to you the RT-1410 Heavy Freighter Centennial Eagle.

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1758622983

Built by the premium starship designers in the galaxy, Corellian Shipyards, the RT-1410 Heavy Freighter Centennial Eagle is the big brother to the famous YT-1300 Light Freighter Millennium Falcon. Used for heavy interplanetary transport over great distances and great speeds, the Centennial Eagle will meet all of your shipping needs both now and into the distant future. Powered by a atmospheric, hydrogen, and ion modular thrusters of unsurpassed efficiency and power, the carrying capability of this freighter will astound you. As a testimony to her power and speed, she made the Kessel Run in just over 11 parsecs!

(Note that this build, unlike most of my others, does use a few mods; I needed them to get the "look". I also used DLC.

I've been a bit "stalled-out" lately, opting instead to play some lonely survival on planets and in space. This came out of one scenario...

R.U.S.T. Mobile Processing is a variant of the original R.U.S.T. Freighter created by Aragath. Consistent with the original design, this build is completely vanilla (modless) and does not use DLC. The ship's basic hull structure is unchanged, but has been revised somewhat from the existing design to add new features.

Why did I do this?, you ask. Well, let me tell you...

I was recently playing a new survival game, starting in space with nothing but my basic welder, hand drill, grinder, and guts. I found a derelict SPRT ship, disabled the defenses, found the needed oxygen and hydrogen bottles, and started revising it to fix existing parts and add some refineries so I could expand operations. Not long after, I noticed a R.U.S.T. Freighter wandering by, so I captured it and decided that it would serve well as a mobile refinery. After considering different options, I found that I could reasonably attach six refineries to the hull, three to a side. I continued to modify the ship, mostly just to get it airtight (by rotating the arc furnaces/basic refineries), and found that the new features worked really well. My version also had a 6-drill extension out the front and, although it worked well for quickly collecting ore for processing, it looked so wrong that I left it off this build. (Anybody can add that particular feature if they're using this build for a survival ship.) I opted to exclude a jump drive because the ship's hull will not fit such a large block without the ship looking unbalanced.

    Uranium Express mk2

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1805379684

    {NOTE: This is an upgrade to the original design found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1687185187 ; designed and tested in the upcoming Desperate Foothold survival mission.}

Configured with hydrogen thrusters and supplemented with an atmospheric thruster boost, Uranium Express has two large cargo containers and four medium cargo containers for carrying the necessary parts and ingots into space to establish a remote uranium and/or platinum refining facility, since those ores are not normally found on planets. Unlike the original design, however, this design recommends a more weight-efficient process of carrying just enough parts for a small cargo container, an advanced assembler, a battery, and 20 light armor blocks for a facility foundation, as well as sufficient refined silver, cobalt, iron, nickel, silicon, and, optionally, gold, to use in the assembler to produce parts for a refinery(ies), reactors, and any other components necessary to produce refined uranium, platinum, or any other materials for use planetside.

The drill arms are enhanced with large connectors and conveyor sorters to collect only ore (and ice) and reject stone. The ship's slim profile allows for tunneling without difficulty.

Changes to the original design include 10 additional atmospheric thrusters to significantly reduce hydrogen consumption during the initial boost phase, additional gyroscopes for better handling, two more drills for 50% higher rate of ore gathering, two additional small reactors and small batteries to handle the additional power requirements, one additional left and right hydrogen thruster for better maneuverability, an extra landing gear for versatility, and one rocket launcher and two gatling guns for defenses in hostile environments.

NO MODS, NO DLC, NO ROTORS/PISTONS; SURVIVAL READY AND PROJECTOR BUILDABLE!

    SHIP STATISTICS FOR 1-1-1 SURVIVAL
    • 446 blocks
    • 5,944 PCUs
    • 62.8k empty mass
    • 150k maximum gross mass (to make orbit)

    Desperate Foothold Survival Scenario

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1806198815

Desperate Foothold is a survival scenario where you are challenged to overcome a difficult situation while evading the constant threat of hostile forces and operating with limited mobility. Being a highly trained space engineer, however, your motto is taken from the space marines: "Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome."

    BACKSTORY
Pirates have always been a hostile force in this universe, but their recent encroachment upon facilities and personnel from your home planet has forced leadership to take the fight to them. As a senior space engineer, your specific mission was to establish a foothold on their home planet with expanding infrastructure from which you could launch counterattacks on their facilities and ships. Unfortunately, your leadership grossly underestimated their strength and resolve, and your entire fleet was either destroyed or boarded and seized as plunder. You managed to make it to a survival pod, grabbing a rifle and significant quantity of ammo before being forced to eject or be captured. You chose to eject, not wanting to leave your fate in their savage hands.

You take with you the knowledge for building Nanite constructors and shield generators, as well as many other components such as refineries, assemblers, reactors, and the remaining necessary infrastructure for operating a self-sustaining base. Unfortunately, your jetpack took some damage during your evasion and escape, so its capabilities are severely affected; it is essentially inoperable on the planet, and of limited capability in space (zero-g).

    OBJECTIVE
Build a planetary base that is viable and sustainable in a very hostile environment. The base should have ore gathering and refining capabilities to allow for further expansion, defensive capabilities, and medical and living facilities. Be mindful that building a shield generator requires platinum, an ore that is not found on planets, so if you desire shields for your base and/or ships you'll need to build or acquire a ship capable of space flight to either bring back ore or carry enough resources into space set up a remote refining facility for the purpose of refining ore so you only needing to carry back ingots of much lesser mass. (Mining and refining uranium would also eliminate the need to protect the large planetary wind and/or solar farms required to operate your base.)

Pinnacle Peak Station from the Desperate Foothold Survival Scenario

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1826227938

Pinnacle Peak Station was developed entirely in survival mode without the use of a jetpack to complete the Desperate Foothold survival scenario's requirement for a viable and sustainable planetary base in a hostile environment: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1806198815

I expanded my use of mods for internal furnishings and to boost the speed of the airtight hangar doors, relying on their use instead of DLC for the finishing touches. Included also is the use of Automatic LCDs 2 script by MMaster, and a custom piston speed script for the welder fabrication pistons by Mollymawk (THANK YOU!).

With an elevation of nearly 3½ kilometers above the planet's surface, I chose the top of a very steep peak as an ideal defensible location, stuck a flag in it (figuratively, of course), and named it "Pinnacle Peak." I built and used my Skipjack Tunnel Master ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1790992393 ) with ship shields, of course, to build the crossing tunnel system and vertical access shaft to the top gun bunker. The station is quite large and boasts a station shield, nanobot fabricator, 24 refineries, 6 assemblers, 6 large cargo containers, and hydrogen and oxygen tanks and numerous O2/H2 generators. Power is supplied by 2 large reactors and backup power is supplied by 6 hydrogen engines (charged with hydrogen, but turned off).

The base includes a large number of living quarters, quarters for a commanding and executive officer, medical suite including a hospital ward, kitchen and dining services, and a large lounge area for recreation. All externally exposed features are heavily defended with gatling turrets.

All ingots for processing at the planetary base were gotten by mining ores on the planet using the Deep Reach Miner ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1806053864 ), and uranium and platinum for processing at the asteroid base using the Uranium Express ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1805379684 ); ship shields were added to both designs for protection. Both a larger and smaller fabrication ship were custom-built for this base, mostly as a means for emplacing blocks so the nanobots could finish building them. (I will probably publish the two designs at a later time after doing more optimization of the designs.) I also included my Catfish Utility Shuttle ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1740416320 ) as a means for testing the effectiveness of my projector fabrication system, but revised the design to remove DLC and use a vanilla cockpit.

It was a lot of work designing and building this, admittedly, quite large base, but a great challenge and lots of fun for me.

    Catfish Utility Shuttle mk2

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1827273217

The Catfish Utility Shuttle mk2 is an all-purpose small-grid craft with high-capacity cargo capability, and room for a pilot and 6 passengers. This build is modless and uses no rotors or pistons, so building from a blueprint is straightforward. The original design (see https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1740416320) utilized a DLC cockpit; this revision eliminates the DLC cockpit and adds landing gear for additional versatility.

    Mighty Cricket Fab Bug

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1827853292

Designed for emplacing blocks and components on a planet where jetpacks are disabled, Mighty Cricket provides a simple, low-cost solution. Sufficient atmospheric thrusters are provided to allow the ship to be oriented in any direction (if not too heavily loaded), and its small size allows it to get into tight places. (Note that the welder can be easily replaced by a grinder, if desired.)

A mobile variant of the original SPRT Raiding Station, the SPRT Heavy Raider is a formidable opponent when you need to crash a party with heavy firepower. Equipped with 8 gatling turrets and 8 missile turrets on its top and bottom (4 each), and 8 interior turrets fore and aft (4 each), the SPRT Heavy Raider will quickly subdue all but the most advanced enemies. It's jump drive allows it to move quickly to and from a fight, and each of the 16 main guns are equipped with ship welders to repair battle damage as it occurs. Considering its firepower, the SPRT Heavy Raider is relatively low-cost from a survival mode standpoint, is airtight, and is a completely vanilla projector-capable build in survival mode, i.e., NO mods, NO rotors, NO pistons, and NO DLC.

    Tigerfish Long-Range Hauler

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1853378028

Triggerfish was intentionally designed and built in survival mode to directly address the long-range hauling missions that are part of the latest "Economy Update" in Space Engineers. Why make dozens of jumps to finish those 3,000,000+ space credit missions that require traversing distances of 20,000+ km when you can do it in two or three jumps!?! Equipped with eight (8) jump drives,Triggerfish will finish those missions in minutes rather than hours. Yes,Triggerfish is rather pedestrian in appearance, but she'll perform like a pro!

Triggerfish has amble room for a pilot and 12 passengers; excluding the four cryo chambers. This build is modless and uses no rotors, but does include one piston; building from a blueprint is straightforward and the player can chose what to install on the end of the piston. The versatility of piston enables the player to install a connector for much more flexible docking at the various stations, drill(s) for large-scale replenishing of ice, or ship welder(s) for doing repair missions; during the course of playing, I changed components as needed. For those playing without jetpacks,Triggerfish is accessible from the ground via ladders on both sides of the ship.

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1904281463

Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions, a division of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, presents the Warhead Refinery Module (WRM). Designed without the use of subgrids (i.e., rotors and/or pistons), the WRM is a self-contained, airtight unit that can be placed in creative mode or built in survival mode inside the 45-meter diameter spherical void created by the underground detonation of a single large-grid warhead.

Optimally configured for high-capacity ore processing and component production, the WRM contains 18 advanced refineries, each with 4 yield modules, and two advanced assemblers, each with 4 speed modules. Power is supplied by two small reactors. A single large cargo container is available for ore and component storage, and a single O2/H2 generator and oxygen tank supply air to the module's interior; a vented airlock is used for external access. Also provided are a medical room and two cryo chambers for life support.

    Old Prospector's Jenny

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1916033385

The old prospector's Jenny was found as a derelict in the far reaches of space outside our known solar system. Although Jenny's systems have mostly been brought back to operational status, she still needs some work to restore her appearance. Interestingly, the old prospector seems to have pieced together Jenny from several different sources: habitat modules from the Nalynx settlement, shuttle bays from an old Reidan dreadnaught, a storage tower from a now-closed iRobot factory, and a military-grade power and dual jump drive module from a Phalanx Class Interdictor. It's obvious the old guy had set himself up to do some serious ore hunting! (I unceremoniously dumped the old prospector's mummified body out the lower bow airlock; perhaps his ghost still haunts this old ship.)

Note that Jenny does not use any subgrids (i.e.., rotors and/or pistons), and does not use any mods, but does have DLC components installed.

Jenny looks great, gonna check it out right now.

I'm playing a longer survival game right now and I'm making huge amounts of space money but the thing that confuses me is that none of the trade stations sell small space stations. I mean like small starter stations. I found a derelict blue and white one back in march and GPS'd it, but when I went back it was no longer there. I think they may have been removed from the game? AAAANYway, as a fun side-project I'm going to be designing tiny stations like I would love to buy from traders, or small wrecked derelicts I'd love to find. Maybe you'd like to give it a whirl?

Stations would be tiny starter units, 1 hydrogen tank or so, hydro thrusters, a battery or two and a ratty solar array, kind of beat up things. Maybe we can make a handful of them and donate them to Keen so they can add them to the trade stations or derelicts lists?:)
