    Summary
Hey Engineers! In this week's update, we're bringing you a few important bug fixes. We fixed the autopilot not being able to turn itself off, and not being able to descend below 60 meters on Planets. We also fixed piston heads, rotor heads, and wheels detaching when reloading a world. Keep in mind that we're also working hard on optimizations and the netcode behind the scenes. This week we've also included something extra for modders - a Testing Tool and Animation Modding Tool.
Our new animation system includes the Animation Controller Editor, which allows modders to create animation controllers in a graphical user interface and even debug them live in the game. Keep in mind that for now, this tool is only for character animation modding.
Testing Tool is a simple application for recording and playing back a saved game. It was originally created for internal use to help us test scenarios and understand how things work in the game, but modders can use the tool to help them see how changes to their code, mods, or scripts can affect the outcome of a particular saved game. The tool can also be used by anyone who has a Keen Software House game to run and play back your games, and to give us your feedback.

Interesting to see some of the fixes from the previous update again. I love that we not only get more bug fixes, but we also get the bugs fixed twice! Keep up the good work, Keen

I don't quite get what either tool does but i read "modding" so it's some devilwork for sure.

    I'll shoo myself out.

Edit: that Jump Drive Effect seriously needs to decide whether it want's to be a Warp Drive or a Jump Drive. Also needs to be more rainbowy for the proper Sonic Rainboom Effect.

I am going to enjoy using and testing Jump Drives much more after what I just saw!

Hopefully, the music overlap bug should be fixed when I test the game today.

what a pointless waste of time this update is. When are you going to address the shitty performance that's been introduced into the game with your new server priority BS I cant do anything (in single player OFFLINE) without the game slowing down. even just welding a block the game runs at 0.80 or less.
then again that's exactly what I've come to expect from KHS a badly thought out plan with crappy implementation.

It pales in comparison to the embarrassingly enormous waste of time that post was.
Seriously. You just don't get it.

    I would like to bring a few points to your attention sir/ma'am;

First: This is a pre-release game. When you bought it, you signed an agreement stating that you knew you were going to buy and play an unfinished game. An unfinished game will have bugs and problems and things might no work correctly. The point of buying a pre-release game is to help the development process by finding bugs that internal testing can't find. 1000 playing a game will find more bugs than a dev team of 30.

Second: Not all bugs are created equal. Certain bugs are harder to fix than others. Just because you don't see anything in a patch or in 5 patches being done about a major bug that a lot of people get does not mean they aren't working on it. It's probably a bug that's deep in the code that will take a lot of time to fix. Don't expect things to be fixed instantly. Especially some of the larger problems.

Third: I would request that you be more respectful towards KSH. insulting them does nothing to help the development process, nor does complaining. If you have a bug report it on the bug report forum. Either add your problem to a thread discussing it or make a new thread if no one else has that problem. And the more details the better. Including what you were doing, ship size, world size, mods running in the world, your computer specs, anything that can help the devs to figure out what is causing problems.

This is a pre-release game. Get used to bugs and bad performance because it will be this way a while before the game gets released

You paid for a game thats currently in alpha, there was a big disclaimer next to the buy button who said only buy it when you are happy with the current state of the game... how you say it, it sounds like you are paying a monthly fee or something... ???

Secondly almost every game with a solid modding support has a good chance to be successful in the long run, so your point is invalid.
