Ye i'll be blunt, I think people confuse "we should" with "we want". God knows we all want the same thing. I shall not use the patience word though promise :D

Game performance with planets also went very far. After the planet were released, I got 15-20 fps. Each update, there was small increase in framerate. Not long after, it was stable at 30-40. Now, I'm getting 50-60 fps on the same hardware and settings. I don't play on high details, but improvement is there, and it's huge (for me anyway). Conveyor, power, oxygen optimizations and minor changes in server-client architecture doesn't seem to be that great, but they are here to save PC/server resources for something more important - like running the game better. There was a long period of time, before planet release, when voxel rendering was bad, asteroids were sometimes invisible and so on. But it was necessary to make planets work and it was all fixed. I guess they are now doing the same with MP.

    It'll always be the same;

    One group: "We want planets!"

Second group: "Why you wasting time on planets?"

Third group: "Why planets without multiplayer?"

The studio literally can't win so they should keep making the game we all bought this for and stop listening to noobs crying on the forum.

(You're not one of them, I was just explaining).

The update includes a personal apology from Marek while being hung upside down from the ceiling like a Pinyata, a voucher for Medieval Engineers and the rest of the game in release form :D

I wonder what could that be, as even the build number stayed the same

It was a hotfix due to Havok licensing expiring that caused physics to disappear :p

New update apparantly messed with the UI.

I don't see jack shit when i'm trying to get menus or the terminal, i see the outlines, but no text and no items, i don't see the buttons in the menus and sometimes i only see half of what the text show on the screen when for exemple you get the " 5 secs till respawn" message etc.

Probably the next update is so huge because of all the new sound files and particle effects that it had to be released in 2 stages :D

They updated the HavokWrapper.dll file. I guess it's some engine fixing.

EDIT: Seems there are no particle or sound updates.

Oops, did I accidently crash the hype train?:p

Yes, and there would be a vocal minority of people complaining about what kind of candy fell out of him after hitting him with the stick and no volumetric water.

So maybe they fixed the physics engine so it actually works like it should, you know, being able to walk around in a ship going several thousand kilometers per hour, complex structures with pistons and rotors that all behave in a perfectly stable and predictable fashion, not getting killed by inanimate objects while standing too close to them, etc.
    Makes sense doesn't it?

I wonder why the update is 300mb big if theres only ~30mb of files touched at all.

I was just walking around in my ship while going 90 m/s on a DS and had no issues ... so hopefully.

I'm glad to see the hotfix though, my DS was going insane without the Havok calculations.

sometimes we are so used to the illusions prepared to blow us away, that we think everything is possible
it comes like a cold reality, that actually no, you can't calculate so much in realtime.

otherwise humanity would have created a common physics engine covering everything and we would only do things in that.
basicly what the holo deck does, except it fails.
