Update 01.136 - Bug Fixes and Improvements

    Summary
    In this week's update, we're bringing you lots of bug fixes and improvements. The biggest fix is for ship toolbars - they're now synchronized between the server and the clients, so you'll no longer lose your configurations when you rejoin a server. Also, you will correctly see any modifications made to a toolbar by other players.
    We've also improved the 3rd person camera, which now acts differently based on whether you are in a ship or station control seat. Because of these changes, the 3rd person camera should now be much easier to control. It's also easier to merge stations when using copy and paste. A number of issues that caused crashes have been resolved, and we fixed character animations being out of sync on multiplayer servers.



    Fixes
    - fixed jump not animating on other clients
    - fixed merging of stations
    - fixed horizon options in cockpits
    - fixed thrusters not being disabled in cockpit
    - fixed camera behavior after leaving cockpit
    - fixed desync of character animation
    - fixed camera resetting when rotating in 3rd person
    - fixed running actions on powered off programmable block.
    - fixed issues with switching camera
    - fixed crashes when merging pistons
    - fixed different toolbar behavior with server/client

    Update 005
    - fixed crash when playing music
    - fixed crash in volume settings
    - fixed crash with modded blocks
    - fixed issue with projected blocks looking complete

    So early the video's still set to private. Typical. Typical, i say! (i blame Havok.)

    @Xocliw just some feedback for the video: i have an idea or two for both but it might've been nice to get a list of what changed for Camera and Copypasting.
    Edit: not really noticing a change for the Camera. Certainly doesn't seem to go further back as would be needed for big ships in 3rd person.
    Edit 2: Copypasting looks like the facings are now in line with the grid that was copied instead of goying haywire the second the copy-ghost touches the new grid. Looking good!

    Another question is, could give some explanation about what happened with the havok license? Expiration time is something that many saw it coming long ago when we watched our dedicated server consoles..

    Much better update than last week! Looking decent, those camera bugs for small ships were kind of annoying having to always dock using spectator cam.

    FINALLY! The ship controls not persisting between play sessions on a server was in my top 5-most-annoying space engineers bugs. Thanks SE team! Keep it up!

    Will the camera be effected by rotors/pistons attached to the ship you are seated in/piloting anymore? You guys fixed that for a little while but it got broken soon after.

    Looks like my 3rd person ship camera will stop being so jittery. ;)

    As stated before, an explanation for the Havok license incident would be nice. Thankfully, I wasn't in Space Engineers when this happened.

    Forgive me if I'm wrong, but given that Medieval Engineers already got a stable branch this week, I'm guessing that the stable branch for Space Engineers will come sooner or later?

    Projectors completely un-f*cked yet?
    What exactly happened to them? They worked fine for ages and then suddenly a couple months ago they broke and you haven't been able to make them work normally again...

    Based on Marek's last blog post regarding the future of SE, they are focusing on a path out of Early Access. This means a prioritization on bug fixes and quality of life issues (improvements on beginner play, streamlining crafting/survival/quality, etc.). New features will most likely be deferred to the next post v1.0 release (when they get out of early access).

    I've gotten so used to just writing /savetoolbar with midspace's admin commands whenever I change something....probably will continue to do so anyways just in case, at least it's guaranteed to work every time :p
    Stuff like timers, button panels, and air vent actions will be nice though, they had a habit of resetting sometimes and couldn't be saved with chat commands.

    I know the general direction and what they're trying to achieve, I love the MP performance improvements every week since I only ever play on a private dedicated server I rented with my friends.
    I'm talking about the teasers they've been throwing at us for several weeks now, being worked on in the background, the new sound system and particle effects, I keep hoping every week that they'll be added in.

    @Xocliw Greetings, Is there a list someplace of all your video ending quotes?

    I hate to admit it but, the occasional dancing Dushan, and your ending quotes are what I look forward to most about patch vids.

    Haha yeah I'll probably catch myself still doing the command out of habit. Though I'm looking forward to testing the changes to see if they work correctly. :)
