    Summary:
We are introducing the first version of a Miner AI peasant (work in progress). If you place him near a mountain or other stony terrain, he will automatically mine stones for you. The selection of blocks was expanded with new diagonal variants and we added a few small changes here and there (new sounds, AI improvements, ragdoll).

    Features:
    - peasant miner
    - diagonal blocks
    - new sounds
    - deers now react to other NPCs
    - improved barbarian behavior
    - deer's ragdoll added
    - added report bug link in the main menu

    New blocks:
    - Stone Block Slope Diagonal
    - Stone Battlement Center Diagonal
    - Stone Battlement Side Diagonal
    - Stone Platform Diagonal

    Fixes:
    - fixed corruption of worlds (it should be possible to load the corrupted worlds now)
    - fixed timbers turning 90 degrees when damaged
    - fixed barbarian spazzing/pathfinding issues
    - fixed K screen hint multiplying on your screen
    - fixed large stone pillars appearing on borders of large world scenarios

Looks like fun. You might could create an automatic castle defense system where miners and peasants cooperate to cause a constant rain of rocks down from the machicolations :).

I see the peasants letting those stones roll down the hill and all I can think is "Days since last workplace incident: 0".

problem with stones rolling down the hill is the peasants will then chase after them. They place the rocks where they spawned and if the rock rolls out of that area they go after said rock :( sad panda.

If only I could find a looping Sisyphus.gif to go with it.

Medieval stone mining ends in tragedy - poor Tordig was crushed by a stone while mining. :(

I love watching the AI kill each other :)

Keen, have you guys been reading the forums? It seems like you guys are reading the forums, I mean, who does that?
    Really?
I think you have more important stuff to do, like add rails, than to spend any time reading nonsense we post to forums.
So..... maybe canvas next week? ;)
Huge thanx (again), have to go play now.

Wonder what we'll see this week? The recent updates have focused a lot on AI, so probably more of that.

I would like to see procedurally generated maps, but that's probably still a ways down the road.

All I really hope for is a primitive railway system. That's the only wish I have that would be small enough for a minor weekly update, unlike weather, procedural maps, water, and so on.

What I expect is more AI and survival stuff. Maybe a new tool or block as well as some fixes, but most likely more AI. Seems that AI is what they want to focus on at the moment so I will just have to wait.

@xzosimusx: Procedural maps sound cool, but they'd be kinda useless right now. I mean Survival Mode, isn't so much "survival" as it is "limited creative" mode. Until you have to worry about running out of resources, I wouldn't expect to see procedural maps.

@UnstableOrbit: Likewise, I wouldn't expect to see to see a primitive railway system until survival games are more developed. Most alpha development is based on needs. We won't need a rail system until there's something we need to transport. Which means, we probably won't have something like this until well after we can actually use the stones and wood to build things in Survival Mode. Still... it would be really cool to have a bunch of minecarts. Maybe we could build roller coasters. :p

I agree with both of you... we'll probably get more developed AI, and possibly a tool as well. Perhaps something for joining logs together?
