Update 1.181.4 Minor - Beta improvements

    Hello, Engineers! It’s a new minor update this week containing more general improvements as we grow ever closer to the next major release, the changelog of which is growing bigger and bigger day! If you missed it, watch last week’s video to hear about some of the optimisations that will be going into that release. The main issues fixed in today’s update include safety locked rotor heads detaching after using a jump drive and grids being able to pass through closed hangar doors. Additionally, we resolved issues with block placement being offset when standing on moving grids.



    In other news, the Steam summer sale has arrived with both of our games having a significant discount until July 5th. You can pick up Space Engineers for 60% off and Medieval Engineers for 40% off! This is the perfect opportunity to pick up extra copies for friends and family or to get into any of our games for the first time.

    Just as a reminder, we have a Discord server set-up for the discussion of anything related to Keen Software House. This is a great place for you to share creations and ideas, but also to just hang out with fellow engineers.

    Fixes:
    - raycast offset on moving grids
    - jump drives break safety locked rotors
    - jump drive particle effect shadow
    - jump drive causing death at full speed with dampeners turned off
    - objects can go through closed doors
    - turrets being able to shoot through doors
    - wrong highlight while welding projected object
    - various modding issues (broken emissivity, holo LCD textures, highlight on objects where are you aiming)

    Hotfix: Dirty glass
    Hotfix: Jump drive jumps into middle of the Earth
    Hotfix: Oxygen and Hydrogen issue with auto refill option also Assembler cooperative mode is behaving the same

    Thanks for the fixes. Can't watch the video or play to test today but does the door-subpart fix apply to voxels as well. I.e. Will hangar doors still pass through voxels?

    Is it just me or have the window material changed significantly with this update? Before I updated I there was little to no dirt on the windows.[​IMG]

    It has become clear to me that the entire point of Space Engineers is not to be a game, but a social experiment that revolves around the glass. We are all test subjects whose reactions, feelings, and thoughts are tested each time they change the glass a different way.

    One rotor connected to a drill on a stick. and yes it did. and I did not die jumping at speed so that part worked.

    I'd been having problems with raycast reliability that could be explained by an offset from grid motion.

    Well folks, check your advanced handtools and ship welders... they might be nerfed... yet again.

    Unfortunately, the side walls of my transport which open and close on rotors have completely disappeared upon loading save game. Not even hovering around over the vessel. Lost in space.
