Space Engineers won't start - Guide

    Hi I'm having trouble starting the game. When I try to launch the game the little space engineers icon appears at the bottom like you see when you open up internet explorer or something. Then after that happens it just disappears and nothing pops up. I try to launch it again, but it says that the game is already running. Now I tried the game wont start guide above and I don't know which one applies or how to fix the problem. Please reply telling what you think the problem is and how to fix it. Thanks.

    Hi, so i bought this game a couple of weeks ago and i haven't been able to run it at all, every time i start it up though Steam i get the little preparing to launch to appear briefly, but it disappears just as fast, then nothing, the game doesn't launch, no error message or anything. Im running a Windows 7 32bit with 4 Gb of RAM and a AMD Radeon 7800 series, the game is installed on a different hard drive than my C drive, but i doubt that is the cause. I have tried everything in the Troubleshooting link above and have tried to fine anyone else on hear with the same problem but as yet i haven't. I have done everything short of re installing Windows and quite frankly that isn't an option. I would really appreciate any help possible because id hate to have wasted my money on this game, and having watched a lot of videos on it it looks very fun.

    im having trouble starting my space engineers when i try to go threw the steps on the steam site none of the following show up in my folders how can i find them or download them?

    Hi everyone, Just bought the game to, been looking for it for such a while and now i cant start it either!
    i have the exact same problem as SVbigbob2009 :
    When i want to start the game, its says the thing preparing to launch then nothing! (In the process it does show up for a second but then it stops)
    I also tried the instruction but i also can't find those files:

    I thought it could be because my laptop might not have a graphic card powerfull enough for the game, but i do manage to play DayZ so.....

    Apparently my post isnt showing so here i go again:
    I have the same problem than SVbigbob2009,
    When i try to start the game nothing happens. (it does show up in the process for a sec or 2 but then it stops..)
    I tried to follow the instructions but i also cant find the 'vcredist' folder...
    I thought it could a graphic card problem but i do can play DayZ for exemple so...

    If anyone has any clues on how to fix this i would REALLy appreciate since ive been looking forward to play this game for a really long time!

    GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!

    - im not thanking the devs on this one.... -



    Simply go to this website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30653
    and download the latest version Microsoft .NET framework (version 4.5!!! not 4!!!)

    That did it for me! for some reasons my game and windows kept installing the version n4, not the 4.5....

    Hope this will work for you to guys ;)

    Now i can finally start to MINE AND BUILD ! :)

    I broght space engineers a while ago under free wekend but never started it.
    Now when i click in the icon to start it opens steam and runns the comersial video for space engineers.
    And if i go to libery it is ther but if i click on it there is instead of a play button a button whith the prize on it
    PLEASSSSEEEEEEE HEEEEELP FAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSTTTTT.

    Hey Lazerdog,
    Unfortunately for you i think you misread the thing when you thought you could get the game for free... that never happens..
    you probably downloaded a free 'trial' of the game, but that was just for a time...
    now you have to purchase it if you wanna play..
    but i highly suggest you do so, that game is quit amazing!
    maybe you wanna take a look on Medieval Engineer wich is i think available now to, and looks spectacular as well! (personnally ill stay with space engineer cause im fascinated with space)
    have a good game!

    bonsoir, voila j'ai acheté spaces engineers , je l'ai téléchargé et je suis tombé sur sa, comment faire pour y jouer ? dois-je redémarer mon pc ? ou sinon réinstaller le jeu ( ce qui est déjà fait) ?

    je possède Nvidia 610 M. 1Gb et intel core i3

    I have verified cache insteam after redownloading a few times and deleting everything. but still the 3 checksum errors in the data section of my steam folder are still causing an application error checksum file error can I get somehelp in restoring these files or w.e is needed in getting this to run.

    ever since the new update i have been getting this error 2015-05-04 15:57:55.009 - Thread: 6 -> Exception occured: System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. and i ran the windows memory diagnostic tool and it says everything is fine

    I appear to be experiencing a known issue. the "BadImageFormatException" game start error. The solution on the https://www.spaceengineersgame.com/game-wont-start-issues.html does not work. Other things I have tried: system restart, verified current Steam version, verified current Space Engineers version, verified hard drive is not corrupt, run hard drive repair tool, reinstalled Space Engineers. I have completed both the Steam error correction list and the Keen Space Engineers repair list without success. My log file is attached.

    It is not an issue with my system being compatible. I have nearly 1000 hours in game without this problem. Between the last time I played (36 hours ago) and the game not starting my computer has been turned off with no new programs installed or changes of any kind made to my computer.

    Problem: The Logfile says "BadImageFormatException" and/or "Could not load file or assembly SteamSDK".You get the "Please run this game from Steam" error message.
    Solution: First try to restart your Steam client and/or your PC. If this doesn't work, download this file: Steam_appid.txt (right click and save link as) and paste it into the Bin and Bin64 folder of the game. You will find this inside the SteamLibrary folder in C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\SpaceEngineers). Then you can start the game manually by running the SpaceEngineers.exe. You can run the 32-bit version of the game from the Bin folder or the 64-bit version of the game from the Bin64 folder.
    We are currently working with Steam on fixing this issue as soon as possible.

    i can load worlds all right, but i barely see anything except for the yellow outline when i hover over a terminal, some lights, and some random blue stuff at the bottom of the screen. my subscribed mods also dont seem to be loading.

    Hi, I just installed this week's update (9/24/15) and I am now unable to launch the game. Context for the situation, I had been playing a single player world that I've been working in for a while, and I left the game open while I was at work so my refineries could catch up with all of the crap I had mined. This is not unusual, I do it rather often. However, upon returning home, I chose to restart the game to cure a stutter that had developed, again, as I frequently do, and took the opportunity to update the game, as well. With the update applied, however, I can no longer launch the game. When I try, it gives me the black transition screen, goes into the pre-menu game black screen that is normal, but then suddenly reverses, goes back to desktop and gives me an error with a tip suggesting that it could be my graphics card not being up to the task... Nothing different about the card, obviously. Now, I looked at the log, but as I don't read... whatever code it is speaking, I can't tell exactly where it might be indicating a problem, save for towards the very bottom where it reports an exception error that is, curiously, identical to the one that I was getting a few days ago from my programmable blocks. I am going to try and just give the portion at the end so as to not flood this with a full log, but if I need to provide additional material, I can certainly do so later. :: The following is the portion going over my display adapter settings, which is where the error messages first occur. I have abbreviated it by removing the lists of all available resolutions. Hopefully that isn't important.

    UPDATE
    It appears that the issue has something to do with DX11 rendering, as I believe I noticed in the log piece I listed. I went into the cfg file and manually switched the graphics renderer value to 9 and it loaded just fine. I happen to like the 11 rendering better though, so if a solution to this sudden breakdown could be found, I will be forever grateful.

    Hello together

    When I start Space engeniers it runs perfekt. And then after some it`s freeze and I have to quit.
    And then I cant start the game again because it`s already runing. After that I looked in the Taskmanager and found a backgrond prosses "space engeniers". I cant kill this task.
    I have to restart my PC to start space engeniers again.

    When i load a new world the game crashes and i have to restart my computer to do anything, it works fine on tutorials though. Couldn't find an error message, and my system exceeds all the minimum requirements except RAM, which it meets (4 GB RAM in total, 2 GB going to 64-bit windows 7, 2 GB for SE)

    Hello all,
    I'm trying to play on a Toshiba Sattelite P855-S5200 with an Intel 4th Gen i7 Quad Core, 8GB Ram, 500GB Disk, Intel HD Graphics 4000.
    I'm able to launch the game and get to the main menu, go through the process of setting up a world (I've also tried loading tutorials and multiplayer to no avail) and after loading for about a minute and a half the game will crash and tell me to check the log. I've checked the trouble shooting page for this error and it says that it would be caused my malware/viruses however I run a scan everyday from Symantec, and after the first experience ran a full scan which said my system was totally clean. I've tried deleting the spaceEngineers.cfg file from appData and I just deleted local content on Steam, currently reinstalling but I'm not hopeful that this will remedy the problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Hello everyone. I'm unable to start my game.

    After starting the game and getting the loading screen (*now with planets!" and "loading"), I get an error sound and window which states "Space engineers - application error occured." This occurs on 32 and 64bit.

    I tried:
    - 32/64bit
    - reinstalling (steam repair & complete)
    - starting as admin

    I played it last week just fine, since yesterday (tried after update) it does give me the errors. The only thing which changed on my PC is a new WLAN-card. Before, I used only LAN.
