    Summary
Hello, Engineers! Today's update is another minor one bringing you more improvements before next major update. The battery exploit was removed, so welding your batteries back up no longer resets its powerstate without trashing the powercells. You are welcome. :)

And if the wait for another major update seems long to you, why not join our Physics & Engineering Contest meanwhile? Check the details at Marek's blog post: http://blog.marekrosa.org/2017/11/space-engineers-physics-engineering.html

    185.5.jpg

I am sorry, may I ask only question, what happening with view distance on dedicated server (only 3-4 Km)? And when we will wait optimization of multiplayer code??? Its the best choice to developer - good MP - more players - more players - more money - more money - nice developer

Was just creating a biiiig machine to create free power. Used this to get into scripting. Now there's nothing more to learn *sad*
Edit: Still working. So can create free power machine ;)

I don't expect to be not losing powercells. It just fixed a glitch where you were able to grind down the battery to a state where you did not loose powercells but when welding up the state got reset to 30%.

I would like to see the suggestion from the feedback page to get to life. Like creating powercells as a unit (only manual!) which can be removed/added to existing batteries to keep these as units. These could then also be used to swap the battery of the suit and would be realistic. Especially take over of batteries from hostiles and a move of existing batteries would be muuuuch easier.

Meanwhile in Space Engineers - single player survival:
My gatling turrets are still shooting dead wolf bodies over and over and over again, wasting tons of ammunition. This is a bug that is well known for months now.
I know it's not your "core" of the game, but Keen, there are still people out there playing and enjoying the survival part of the game. This is a major bug and should be adressed accordingly. It worked before, please make it work again, thanks.

    EDIT:
In addition, small grid blocks, (at least the armor ones, didn't test the others on the fly), do not have any build state now. You just place the block and it looks welded while it's not...MAJOR problem.

Also happy holidays to the whole KSH team.

**It could be done easily, the reactor reskinned as a battery. and Powercells as Fuel. Charging PowerCells could still be done if the battery block set to "Recharge" mode... Something to help power in suits has been wanted for a long time.. so i would not HOLD my breath on that one** But

well removing one battery exploit is great but what about being able to charge batteries FROM other blocks when their high power state drops to a low/idle power state??

Unlikely- if they stay true to their weekly Thursday update schedule, then this was the last update before crimbo. Cross your fingers & pray to Clang though, and there might be something around Newsyears.

    Oh look, a flying pig...

Wow... Not even a "Merry Christmas" or the token "Happy Holidays" for Politically Correct babies from the Keen group.... just another pretty pitiful minor bug update. Wonder what new game they are working on behind the scenes that the updates/bug fixes are smaller and smaller? Miner Wars all over again? Guess I will continue with Planet Nomads

I think the updates are getting smaller each week because they are getting closer to releasing the next Major update.

fixed exploit when welding batteries back up reseted the powerstate without trashing powercells

Now we just need to fix the recycling system so that scrap metal breaks down into the correct materials instead of just iron. Because there is this thing you may have heard of called conservation of mass >.>

Ok, complete the machine to just find out, that in my case the "Colorful icons" mod reverted the behavior of the batteries back to the old one.
But at least I was able to complete it and learned something.

Hmm, really hope they implement something like this. Because it is really annoying to not be able to hack a battery or even move it to another place.
Here is the suggestion btw. https://feedback.keenswh.com/idea/batteries-and-removable-power-cells5980a73245842

Have you tried building your battery atop a merge block to unplug and replug it somewhere else? It works pretty well
